The Toy Shed celebrates the opening of its new premises

20 July 2016

Rotorua’s well-known performance workshop, The Toy Shed, officially opened the doors to its new premises on July 16, and the sun came out to celebrate.

Petrolheads from far and wide came to visit the huge new site that the business shares with parts-supply business Proparts.

Business owner and successful drag racer Russell Lowe ticked all the right boxes to showcase what he and his team are capable of, which should enhance and inspire any customer requests revolving around various aspects of their pride and joy, including the rebuilding and motor prep — and it will all be carried out in what can be described as very modern premises.

The BBQ certainly had its work cut out, but thankfully they had the right one for the job, being housed in the front end of an HQ Holden.

Over the day the car park became an ever-changing show in itself, with everything from hot rods and muscle cars through to modern muscle all turning up to take a look.

Likewise, inside featured a wide range of machines, including some of Russell’s own, like this wild little V8-powered Escort through to all manners of customer cars.

Speaking of his own cars, none are more well known than his Top Door Slammer Camaro, which impressed the crowds with fire-ups during the day.

Make sure that if you’re wanting any form of performance work or tuning done, you head down to the Rotorua premises and have a chat to the team.
