The 2025 Lowrider Nationals, held in conjunction with the 4’s and Rotary Nationals and run by Downtime Entertainment, took over the GLOBOX Arena at Claudelands. The venue proved to be the perfect choice, offering two distinct spaces. One was for the day-trippers who preferred to keep things simple, while the other was packed with highly detailed setups that showcased the heart of the lowrider culture. Clubs were set up left, right, and centre, with the likes of Ol Skool Rydz, Loyalty Life IV, Malavido, Carnales, Uso Car Club, and Low Key all representing in style.As we step out of winter and into spring, not only do we look forward to the hotter weather, but also the start of the car event season. One of the first shows to mark the start of these warmer months here in the South Island is the much anticipated Kaikoura Hop. Held over 18-22 September this year, the event has grown from its humble beginnings to be one of the ‘must-do’ events on the car enthusiast’s calendar.
