Marking a significant milestone for HSV, a ‘red hot’ Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was the honoured vehicle that rolled off the company’s production line in Clayton South, Victoria, Australia, recently, as a commemorative photo was taken with all production staff. This particular car marks the tuning house’s 1000th high-performance Chevrolet Camaro since it commenced re-engineering the range for Australian and New Zealand markets last October.
“It’s been a whirlwind 18 months for HSV, and as a team, we recognize this significant milestone with real pride,” said HSV’s managing director, Tim Jackson.
The car itself has yet to be sold, and Ralph D’Silva HSV, in Preston, Victoria, will be the lucky dealership recipient. In addition to the HSV build-plate marking its milestone status, a personalized letter of authenticity will also accompany the vehicle.
The Camaro range is one of three models that HSV is offering as part of the company’s post-Holden era. The HSV SportsCat is carving a niche for itself in the sports 4×4 ute category, with the recent release of a Series 2 upgrade, while the Chevrolet Silverado monster truck is building a reputation for its solid towing capability.
