For the last 17 years, Noddy Watts and the team behind the hugely successful Beach Hop festival have brightened up the calendars of Kiwi car nuts, bringing an enormous show of classics and hot rods to the beautiful Thames–Coromandel region.
With the event having transgrassed into the periphery of mainstream Kiwi culture, now being firmly cemented in the list of things to do in New Zealand, we’re very pleased to congratulate the team for its most recent accomplishment in having Beach Hop crowned New Zealand’s Favourite Event of the Year!
The coveted award was announced at the NZ Event of the Year Awards at Skycity Auckland, and although the team missed out on the National Event of the Year award, the Beach Hop crew are understandably chuffed at securing what they call ‘the big one’!
They couldn’t have done it without everyone who voted for Beach Hop, as well as the countless entrants, volunteers, entertainers, and sponsors who all have helped to make the event the Kiwi success story that it is!
