If you’re a Supercars fan or Touring Cars fan here in New Zealand, you would have no doubt heard of the ITM Auckland SuperSprints coming up at Pukekohe Park Raceway, November 4–6. In the lead up to the event, there will be an action-packed Fan Day held Thursday, November 3, in the heart of Auckland, at Aotea Square.
The event kicks off at 10am near lower Queen Street outside the Britomart Transport Centre, where a wide range of American classic cars will be on display. At 11.40am, the classic cars will depart from Britomart to transport the supercar drivers up to Aotea Square. From around midday until 1.15pm, all of the supercar drivers will be in attendance, giving fans a chance to get up close and personal, have photos taken, and have signatures signed. The classic cars that transported the drivers will be on display until around 2pm. Alongside the drivers and the classic cars, there will be a live band and numerous Xbox consoles set up, so you can have a crack at the latest Forza Horizon 3 game.
In addition to this full-on Fan Day, if you fancy yourself a bit of a go-karting whiz, you can challenge your favourite driver to a fastest-lap shootout just days prior to the event on November 1. We’ll bring you more information on this when applications open in October.
