What everybody needs to know about the 2015 Chrome Expression Session

6 August 2015

Over the weekend of August 8–9, the Mothers Chrome Expression Session event returns to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, and the 4&Rotary team have ensured that it’s going to be even bigger and better than 2014’s event.

One of the main elements that impressed us during the 2014 event was the sheer variety of cars on show, something spurred on, no doubt, by how inclusive the event was. V8s, turbos, rotaries, and everything in-between shared the facilities, pooling together car enthusiasts of every breed from across Auckland and around the country. It’s great to see people embrace their differences and just enjoy the thrill of loud noises and cool cars.

This is a factor that has clearly returned in 2015, with the calibre and mix of cars attending this year’s event stepping up big time. D1NZ stars ‘Fanga Dan’ Woolhouse, Shane Allen, Adam Davies, and Daynom Templeman will be there in their respective beasts. So too will Faizal Ramzan’s award-winning ‘DEMON’ Skyline R34 GTR, and Aaron Keach’s ‘Raw Hide’ Mazda 808, which we have previously featured on The Motorhood.

If you’re seeking further gratification, all you need to do is check out the endless supply of galleries showcasing what’s going to be at the event on the Chrome Facebook page. There’s everything automotive: pristinely clean stock examples, tastefully modified vehicles, fresh builds, and even former NZ Performance Car and NZV8 feature cars. Don’t believe us? Then check out the full entry list on the Chrome Expression Session website.

The event will feature several different modules for attendees to enjoy. There will be both solo and battle-format drifting sessions, drag racing sessions pitting import against V8 to see who’s got the best grunt in a straight line, the power skid burnout sessions to see who can lay down the most smoke, and time attack sessions for those of a more grip-based persuasion. On top of this, there will be gymkhana sessions on the infield skidpan, and a show-and-shine display area featuring some of the best cars in the country.

If you’re looking at attending, check below for the official weekend timetable. We’ll see you there!
