NZV8 turns 10!

9 April 2015

Yep, you read it right, NZV8 magazine has just turned ten years old, and we’ve put out a bumper-sized birthday issue to help celebrate.

Gracing the cover is a car that we’ve been itching to get our hands (er, camera lens) on for some time now — Johnny Burkhart’s amazing Plymouth Road Runner. With a monster 550ci Procharged Hemi under the hood, the car has enough power to back up its ‘1600HP’ number plates.

Being our biggest issue yet, it’s not the only amazing car to feature in the issue though, with Andy Byrne’s elite-level ’32 coupe, Dave Sturrock’s far-too-nice-to-be-raced Camaro, Joe Ryder’s super-engineered HR Holden, and Tony Gera’s nine-second Mustang streeter all making it into the mix. We also found time to get behind the wheel of the latest, and final-ever Ford Falcon XR8.

On the event front, we’ve got coverage from Repco Beach Hop 15 — yes, the Beach Hop that happened under two weeks ago! We also cover the IHRA NZ Drag Nationals, and the latest round of the Enzed Central Muscle Cars race series.

If special features are more your thing, then you’re in luck. Besides the obligatory birthday stuff, we’ve had a look back at a handful of our favourite feature cars, and find out where they are now. We also bring you all that you need to know about turbos, and a peek inside the twisted mind of John Force. But if that’s not enough, there’s a seriously cool shed feature in there as well.

On behalf of the entire NZV8 team, I’d like to extend a massive thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us over the years. Without your support, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thanks for the good times and great memories!
