Our top 15 of 2015: 1972 Holden Monaro HQ

11 December 2015

Over the course of 2015, we’ve featured no less than 69 cars, so when it came time to narrow down to our top 15 of 2015, we seriously struggled. Below is what we narrowed it down to. With the standard of builds being completed in the country skyrocketing, it was no easy feat to choose. We looked at what cars we’d love to have parked in our own garages, and this is what we came up with — in no particular order. Here’s another of our Top 15, and you can check out an earlier listing here

Warren Black — 1972 Holden Monaro HQ

What’s the most outrageous car you’ve seen in the flesh? We reckon Warren Black’s 1972 Holden Monaro is right up there — with its steamroller-sized rears and towering, 555ci blown big block, the HQ is seriously in your face. The extensive modifications throughout the car have all been crafted in steel, and the old girl weighs in at a hefty 1850kg. Even so, she’s no trailer queen — Warren’s not afraid to put his foot into it, and has to date run a 9.81 at 137.95mph quarter mile.
