Whether you were a Ford, Holden, or Mopar fan, there were plenty of great vehicles to keep even the fussiest of diehards happy at the All OZ Car Show, held on Sunday, November 8 at the Ounuhia Domain just north of Christchurch. The event, which was hosted as a combined effort between the Holden Enthusiasts Club of Christchurch and the Falcon Fairlane Club, was rewarded with a great turnout of cars and people.

No Australian car show would be complete without a mighty FJ Holden on display. This very tidy ’55 example has had some chassis strengthening performed on it to allow the fitting of a 202 engine and Toyota five-speed. Other mods included HR front disc brakes, Torana steering column, and rack and pinion steering.

Produced by Leyland Australia, the P76 was released in 1973 and earned the nickname ‘The Wedge’ due to its body shape. It was designed and built as a rival to the Ford Falcon, Holden Kingswood, and the Chrysler Valiant, but was a huge failure due to its poor build quality. You can still find examples, such as this purple original on display.

This beautiful Valiant coupe is still in the build, but it didn’t stop the owner from towing it out on an A-frame. Running a 360ci Mopar engine and auto, the paint looked as though it was still wet, such was the shine. The large bonnet scoop gives it that tough look — not that Mopars need it.

Gary Stratford’s 1973 HQ Holden Premier is as original as you will find. The car is powered by a 253 V8 and Trimatic transmission. The car has had the same owner since new, and, as the information on the car stated, has never been driven on a gravel road, or driven in the rain.
