Triple Eight: V6 turbo engines future of Supercars

Hot off the press: Craig Lowndes inside a V6 turbo-powered Holden … is this a wet dream for the series fans, or their worst nightmare? Whatever you want to call it, it’s massive leaps ahead of what we were expecting.

Triple Eight have released a sneaky preview of its new V6 turbo engine in action ahead of its debut appearance in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship next year. The 3.6 litre V6 heart is expected to run in a series of wildcard races before being rolled out in full for 2019.

Fans are a bit on the fence with the idea on paper, as there are concerns the engines noise will fall short of the current V8 engines, but if the below video is anything to go by there is more than enough of a symphony to please your ears:
