The July issue of NZV8 hits a store near you

27 June 2016

NZV8 Issue No. 134 has hit shelves! Check out what you have to look forward to:

Hemi power

It was Andrew Sinclair’s dream to own a Superbird, and despite stock ones being amongst the most desireable muscle cars ever produced, stock was never going to be good enough for this horsepower fanatic. With the use of one of the country’s top circuit car builders, though, what’s been created is something far greater than stock. It’s got a Hemi up front to give it more than enough power to match its 200mph looks.

West is best

When Westside hit TV screens last year as a prequel to Outrageous Fortune, it was an instant success. Part of that success was due to the period-perfect 1970s West Auckland setting that had been portrayed. And, as we know, there’s nothing that screams West Auckland more than the cars, so with series two just about to launch, we headed out west to take a closer look at the vehicles you’re about to see hit your screen.

Fi what?

Over the last few months we’ve started to see the name FiTech pop up around the show, so we decided it was time to catch up with the team at Magnum Automotive to find out what’s involved in installing a FiTech EFI system, and if they’re as good as what everyone’s been saying they are.

50 years on

June 19, 1966 may well be the most successful day in New Zealand motorsport history. Why? Because that’s the day that legendary Kiwi drivers Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme, and Chris Amon brought the Ford GT40 home first in the 24 Hours of Le Mans event — an event that not only put the cars on the worldwide stage, but the drivers, too. With that event now almost exactly 50 years on, we delve into how it all unfolded.
